The festival of Holi is being disturbed by the weather changes which is most unlikely for the month of March. Crops like sarson, barley, wheat and gram have been damaged due to hail storm in various districts.
It rained on Thursday night in Udaipur from 9 p.m. onwards. Hail storm was witnessed in Jaipiur, Sikar, Bikaner, Hanumangarh, Dausa, Sriganganagar, Dhaulpur, Bharatpur etc. Jaipur witnessed both rain and hail for almost 1 and half hours. The roads were covered with hail which looked more like sheets on the road.
The crop damage has been estimated to be around 20 crores. This unseasonal rain is likely to affect the quality of the crops as well.
Orange alert has been declared for Ajmer, Alwar, Baran, Bharatpur, Bhilwara, Bundi, Dausa, Kota, Jaipur, Jhunjhunu, Karauli, Sawai Madhopur, Sikar, Tonk, Nagore, Churu, Dhaulpur, Hanumangarh, Bikaner and Sriganganagar. These 20 districts are likely to experience rain and hail storm on Friday.
