Pahalgam Attack India retaliates Pakistan Nationals Given 72 Hours to Leave India Congress Resolution

April 24, 2024: The Indian Government, in a stern message following the aftermath of the Pahalgam attack, emphasiezed suitable retaliation and beyond, with the Prime Minister calling out to the terrorists and their backers, that India will identify, track and punish each of the terrorists involved in the dastardly act at Baisaran in Pahalgam that left 26 people dead, most of them tourists.

Visa Services

In response to the recent Pahalgam terror attack, the Government of India has suspended visa services for Pakistani nationals effective immediately. All existing visas are revoked as of April 27, 2025, with medical visas remaining valid only until April 29, 2025. Pakistani nationals in India must exit before their visa expiry, i.e. April 27, 2025 and Indian citizens are strongly urged to refrain from traveling to Pakistan and to return home promptly if currently in Pakistan.

Pacifying Tourists

The Dy CM of Jammu & Kashmir, Surinder Choudhary has assured the tourists of their safety and ensured that their safety be the top priority. In his message, he also said that tourists will keep coming to the state, irrespective of the efforts by some to distort the tourist ecosystem of Jammu & Kashmir.

Congress Hand-in-Hand with Government

The Congress party, in the meanwhile had called an all party meeting chaired by the Prime Minister on April 22. The opposition party adopted a resolution on April 24, where it stood by the beraved families. the resolution said that all party meeting being chaired by the PM on April 24, would look deep into the mismanaged intellegence and security failures and lapses, that led to terrorists easiliy walking into a highly concentrated tourist area and firing openly, killing 26 people and then even having the time to evaporate into thin air. The party said that the Union territory of J&K is directly under the purview of the Union Home Ministry and that questions on such major lapses should be raised as a matter of national interest. Dwelling upon the upcoming Amarnath Yatra, the resolution mentioned that the CCCS should look at providing immense safety cover to the lakhs of pilgrims coming for the yatra in the coming days.
