Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, Army Colonel Sofiya Qureshi and Air Force Wing Commander Vyomika Singh held a press briefing updating the media on Operation Sindoor
May 10, 2025 - The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) and Ministry of Defence (MoD) held a press briefing at 10:30 am on Operation Sindoor in New Delhi today, May 10. The briefing was conducted by Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, Army Colonel Sofiya Qureshi and Air Force Wing Commander Vyomika Singh.
The MoD said Pakistan continued its attacks on May 10 by targeting civilian areas and religious sites, including the Shambhu Temple in Jammu. Pakistan tried air intrusions at 26 locations, armed drones were sent overnight, posing threats to civilians and places of worship, said the Ministry, adding that the Indian Armed Forces remain on alert and committed to protecting national sovereignty.
Col. Sofiya Qureshi informed the media that Pakistan had tried to attack air base in Punjab and apart from targeting military bases, it also targeted educational and medical facilities in Srinagar, Avantipura and Udhampur. She said that Pakistan military is observed to be moving their troops to border areas.
Indian forces have inflicted extensive damage to Pakistani forces, said Col. Qureishi adding that Pakistan has deployed drones and fighter aircraft to target military bases and civilian areas. “We do not want escalation but Pakistan also must be committed to de-escalation,” she said.
Additionally, she informed that Indian forces have in retaliation targeted several military bases in Pakistan, Sialkot airbase targeted by India with precision munitions and that Pakistan had used civil aircraft as a shield to hide its attacks on India
Speaking at the press briefing, Wing Commander Vyomika Singh said that Pakistan’s recent actions amounted to provocation and escalation along India’s border but India had responded in a responsible and measured manner, defending against attacks while maintaining restraint. She added that Pakistan targeted air force stations at Udhampur, Pathankot, Adampur and Bhuj.
The Wing Commander said that Pakistan was attempting malicious misinformation campaign and that its claims of destroying India’s S-400 system, airfields at Surat and Sirsa are false.
Singh added that Pakistan Army troop movements towards forward positions indicate possible plans for further escalation and that India remains on high operational alert and has countered all hostile actions.
Misri shared photographs of Air Force Stations in Sirsa and Suratgarh as he refuted claims by Pakistan of them being destroyed.
