The campus at MPUT was in terror once again as a panther entered the campus during afternoon on Friday. The security gurad first spotted the panther and he started shouting after which the panther leapt into the bushes and then it disappeared. 

It was around 3 p.m. when the panther entered through the main gate in the MPUT campus. The administration informed the forest department and  the team reached the MPUT campus. They searced for the panther in the bushy area but it was nowhere to be found. Probably it moved on to the forest area nearby.

It may be noted that the forest department had put up a cage a week back to trap the panther but in vain. A number of CCTV footages reveal that the panther has been frequenting this area but it is just that it is not getting trapped. 

The forest department officials said that there are all the possibilities that the fire in the forest in the hills in front of the RTO offiie is forcing the animals to move to the city. The panther might have moved towards the city to escape the fire.
