In what can be said to be much awaited news rather than good news for Udaipurites, Fateh Sagar Paal will be opened for parking vehicles inside. This was intimated by Roop Kumar Khurana, Chairmen, UIT after his inspection of the on-going work at Vibhuti Park.
Today on 4th June 2012, Roop Kumar Khurana visited the under construction Vibhuti Park at Fatah Sagar Paal. He asked the related authorities to open the gate for the common people to facilitate parking their vehicles on the newly constructed space.
As per information construction, which was on at full pace on the space opposite the Paal for the past 8 months, is now taking final shape. The traffic across the Paal was also blocked. The area though, has been converted to No Vehicle zone on the orders of District Collector.

According to the information provided by Nirmal Suthar, JEN, UIT gates on one side will be opened and the roads will be installed with temporary barricades after the parking area, thereby ensuring that no vehicle can pass beyond. The road side vendors on the Paal will also be moved to the market area.
“Only one Gate will be opened to facilitate parking on the Paal i.e. the gate on the overflow side of Fateh Sagar”, said Roop Kumar Khurana.
The dedicated parking will help in smooth flow of traffic on the road leading to Mumbaiya Bazaar, where presently there was much chaos due to pedestrians, vehicles plying in hundreds during the evening and on weekends, and also vehicles being parked on the areas near the Mumbaiya Bazaar. This resulted in total chaos, traffic jams and accidents.
Anil Nepalia, Executive Engineer, UIT said “Our parking work is completed but the work for aquarium will be continued for which we have already received approval”.
