-Parks must have adequate light systems for the evening and night hours.

-Municipal Corporation took action against the contractor responsible for the maintenance of electricity in the parks.

Parks in Udaipur have been suffering dark hours due to mismanagement. The teams of Municipal Corporation inspected 17 parks of Udaipur and discovered that the parks were in dark during the evening hours as the electricity systems were not maintained.

After receiving several complaints in this direction, the chairman of electricity committee visited the parks in the city as directed by Mayor GS Tank. Lights in various parks were not in working condition and 17 parks in the city including Gulab Bagh and the park in Town Hall were found mismanaged with respect to electricity.

Since the maintenance was not being taken care of by the contractor, the Municipal Corporation deducted 1 lakh 79 thousand rupees from the contractor’s bill for maintenance. As per the tender, the contractor must maintain proper lighting in the parks, failing which the amount is to be deducted from his maintenance bill on daily basis.

Gulab Bagh, Hegdewar Park at Swaroop Sagar, Virat Nagar Park, Omkareshwar Mahadev Garden, park near Rajasthan Hospital, GF Block Park, Hanuman Park Ashok Nagar, Indraprasth Garden, Manikyalal Verma Park at Dudh Talai, Machla Magra Park, Sukhadia Circle Park, Goverdhan Vilas Park, park opposite Eklingarh cantonment, Guru Govind Singh Park at Fatehsagar side, Vivekanand Park and the park at Mewar Darshan Art Gallery were with lights which were not in working condition.
