Irritated with overdue water bills, water resource department appealed to the people of Alipura area in a unique way. The department played drum in the colony all the while requesting residents of Alipura to deposit water bills by March.

Consumers who have kept their water bill due since long have been asked to pay their bills at the earliest else water supply to their houses would be discontinued. Assistant Engineer Ahuja informed that the department had discontinued water supply for those whose bills were pending since a very long time. In spite of this bills have not yet been paid. The department resorted to this traditional system of appeal and warning to collect the overdue amount.

The results were fruitful as 2 of the consumers deposited their bills amounting to 7 thousand rupees. Some of the consumers even submitted letters declaring that their bills will positively be paid in the month of March.
