Pension Becomes Headache for Senior Citizens

After the announcement from State Government to provide monthly pension to senior citizens, a wave of happiness was seen amongst males above 70 years and females above 60 years of age.

However, registration procedure for the scheme is proving to be a difficulty for the aged ones of town, wherein the senior citizens have to first seek approval from UMC and then re-submit the approved form in Collectorate to avail the scheme.

Today, in the Udaipur Municipal Council a large number of unhappy senior citizens were seen waiting for their turn to collect approved forms from local authorities; the duly filled forms were submitted for approval of UMC in accordance with individuals’ wards.

The process would complete when approved forms will be re-submitted in Collectorate.

Stuck in the lengthy bureaucratic procedure hundreds of senior citizens gathered outside the office of UMC to receive and re-submit the form.
