Students took off their shirts to express their anger in support of the MLSU’s pensioners who are on strike for more than a week. The student group chanted anti-government slogans and staged dharna outside the administrative building of MLSU.

Pensioners also forcibly closed Arts College before the practical exams which were about to start. The exams were cancelled at the last minute creating chaos in the university.

Seeing the disorder, Student Union president Amit Paliwal came along in the support of students and met Vice Chancellor Prof. I.V Trivedi. Students warned Vice Chancellor to resolve the problems of students caused by the strike of pensioners.

Student Union also said that they support the pensioners but they are also concerned about students. If university will not take any immediate action then Student Union will take severe step and university will be responsible for it.

Dilip Sisodia, NSUI activist said, “Students who stripped off their shirts will continue their support with the pensioners and will stage dharna every day for two hours.”
