Treasury Department has cautioned pensioners that in the absence of an update, TDS will become applicable on the pension amount; additionally, Aadhaar and PAN cards should be linked on the Income Tax website and the PAN card should be active
Udaipur, January 3, 2025: The Treasury Department has informed all pensioners in the district that they must update their Aadhaar number and Permanent Account Number (PAN) on the IFMS Pension portal. They can log in to the portal using their PPO number and the last four digits of their bank account number. If the update is not done, tax deductions at source will be made from the pension amount in the coming months as per the rules.
District Treasury Officer (Rural) Mahendra Singh said the pensioner’s PAN card and Aadhaar card should be updated on the portal. Apart from this, the Aadhaar and PAN cards should be linked on the Income Tax website, and also the PAN card should be active. If there are any issues with these, pensioners can contact the nearest service centre or e-Mitra for assistance.
According to the Director of the Pension Department, 714 pensioners from Udaipur Rural Treasury have not updated their PAN and Aadhaar cards on the IFMS portal. 45 pensioners have not linked their Aadhaar and PAN cards on the Income Tax website, and 706 pensioners have inactive PAN cards. Therefore, all pensioners are advised to ensure they update these details.
