In a one of its kind wedding ceremony organised at Ambamata, people donated blood and also signed up for organ donation. 60 units of blood were donated during the wedding ceremony.

The occasion was wedding of Vikas Audichya s/o Bhagwan Lal Audichya. The groom’s uncle informed that a blood donation camp was also organised as part of the wedding to express committment towards the society. 60 units of blood were donated during the camp.

People also filled up forms pledging eye donation after death.

People who had donated blood over 25 times were also felicitated during the ceremony.

The political and administrative who’s who of the city were full of praise for the initiative. UIT Chairman Ravindra Shrimali said that this wedding ceremony would be a source of inspiration for members of all religions and groups across the city. MPUAT V-C Umashankar Sharma said that citizens of Udaipur should promote this novel idea and take it up further.
