Yesterday evenings drizzles turned into heavy rainfall by midnight, getting the city to witness a heavy downpour and significant water levels in water bodies in and around city.
Yesterday evenings drizzles turned into heavy rainfall by midnight, getting the city to witness a heavy downpour and significant water levels in water bodies in and around city.
The city received 6.6 mm rainfall in 24 hours till 8 AM today. As per the statistics collected till now, Nandeshwar Channel is running on 8 ft. mark, Sisarma at 18 ft. mark and Bagheri ka Naaka is overflowimg by 4 inches. Udaisagar has reached the level of 19 ft.
Fatehsagar has reached above 10 ft. mark and still getting water from different sources including Madar. Pichola Lake has also reached 10 ft. mark. High alert has also been declared in areas adjoining Ayad river.
Many areas of the city are flooded with water and some roads are jammed as well. UIT Bridge is blocked by the overflow of water running into Aayad river.
As per sources, many private schools have declared holiday as per the heavy rainfall in the city.
