First time in this season, gates of Madar dam has been opened to allow the flow of water to Lake Fateh Sagar. The water reached Fateh Sagar through the canal in the evening around 8:45pm.

The news reached like fire in the jungle and people staying nearby the lake and those who come there in the evening gathered at the Madar Canal to see the water flowing into Fateh Sagar.

If water flow continues for a longer time, it will increase the lake level to some extent, depending on the rain fall in next 24-48 hours.

Even though rain in Udaipur has not filled the level of satisfaction, fortunately nearby areas of Udaipur has received ample amount of rain resulting in over flowing dams and rivers which certainly gives access of water to city lakes – Pichola and Fateh Sagar.

There was moderate to low rain received today in many parts of the city. Goverdhan Vilas, Hiran Magri and some adjacent areas received heavy rain for some 15-30 mins.

Lake Pichola’s level has already reached to 7 feet. However, the rainfall recorded in Udaipur till now is less than last year.
