Udaipur, February 15, 2025 - To meet the city's increased drinking water demand during the summer, the Water Resources Department opened the gates of the Akodra Dam on February 13 at 2:00 pm to direct water into the city’s lakes. The water passed through the Kodiyat tunnel and the river before flowing into Lake Pichola.

Around one MCFT (million cubic feet) per hour of water is flowing into the lake. Till last evening, the water level in Lake Pichola had risen by four inches.

After Lake Pichola is full, water will be diverted into the Fateh Sagar.

Once the water from Akodra Dam is exhausted, the department is expected to release water from the Madri Dam in the next two days. A team from the Water Resources Department will visit the dam area today to chart out the plan.
