The one meeting that all businesses and industrial houses across the country had been waiting for, started today morning at Hotel Radisson Blu. Goods and Services Tax (GST) governing council started discussions to give approval to GST Draft Law.

The council is being chaired by Finance Minister Arun Jaitley. The meeting is also hosting all the State Finance Ministers from all over the country. GST, IGST, CGST and IGST Draft law are expected to be given approval in the meeting.

Rajpal Singh Shekhawat, minister for urban development and housing is standing in for Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje who could not attend the meeting.

Government had earlier announced 1st April as the date for GST rollout. However, now there is pretty much a consensus on 1st July 2017 being the roll out date.
