PM Holds Key Meet Post Ceasefire

BCCI officials likely to meet today to discuss resumption of the remaining matches of the IPL tournament

May 11, 2025 - After a brief violation of the ceasefire by Pakistan last night, the truce now appears to be holding, hours after both sides accused each other of violations.

The ceasefire announced yesterday, May 10, between India and Pakistan has been welcomed by the United Nations and countries around the world, including Bangladesh, Qatar, Turkiye and the UK.

Pakistan has opened its airspace now for all types of flights, according to reports quoting the Pakistan Airport Aut­hority which has said all airports in the country are now open for regular flight operations.

This morning a sense of calm appeared to be in all border areas and locals have returned to markets in Srinagar, Jaisalmer, Amritsar, Pathankot, Barmer, etc. There is relief among the people but they are also vary. 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is holding a key meeting with top security brass. This is the first government meeting post the ceasefire announcement. PM Modi is taking stock of the situation. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, CDS, Air and Navy chiefs are all part of the meeting.

Meanwhile, reports say that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) officials are reportedly going to meet to discuss the resumption of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 matches. BCCI vice-president Rajeev Shukla told the media that BCCI officials would meet today to discuss the current situation and take a call on resumption of the remaining IPL matches.
