Artisans express gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for promoting Udaipur’s craft on a global stage
Udaipur, Dec 1, 2025 - Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in his Mann ki Baat address on Sunday (November 30), praised the craftsmanship of Udaipur and stressed on the importance of promoting Vocal for Local message. He said that Udaipur’s craftsmanship and the work of its artisans are remarkable. PM Modi mentioned that during the G20 Summit held in South Africa, the Prime Minister of Canada was presented with a silver replica of a horse crafted in Udaipur.
The Prime Minister also spoke about other Indian handcrafted gifts presented to delegates from various countries. He emphasised that the world should know more about Indian art and crafts, adding that the spirit of Vocal for Local has now become a part of people’s lives.
This praise from the Prime Minister has sent a wave of happiness among the local artisans of Udaipur. While expressing gratitude to PM Modi, they said that such recognition encourages Udaipur’s traditional craftsmanship.
