The Pollution Control Department Udaipur recently conducted an inspection of the Pichola area and compiled a report on the presence of pollution in the water. While conducting the tour for lake enthusiasts last Sunday, it was observed that various forms of garbage and debris were flowing in the vicinity of the ring road and its surrounding water. This situation raised concerns among the lake lovers, as they feared that the accumulated filth could potentially contaminate the lake.
Under the guidance of Pollution Control Board officer Sharad Saxena, individuals such as Aastha Sharma and Kunjbihari, recognizing an opportunity, joined forces. Tejshankar Paliwal, an avid lake enthusiast who accompanied them, alerted the officials about the presence of garbage, plastic, and thermocol scattered across the pond. The team, upon witnessing the extent of filth that had permeated the road leading to the lake, expressed deep concern. Subsequently, the Pollution Control Board will submit its comprehensive report to the Municipal Corporation, urging prompt action to address the situation.
During the visit of the lake enthusiasts, they were confronted with alarming conditions. The malfunctioning Sisarma sewer lift pump had resulted in the continuous discharge of sewage and contaminated water from the entire village into the river. As a consequence, the once pristine river water had undergone a visible transformation, its color changing due to the influx of sewage.
