Postal Employees go on indefinite strike
All India Postal Extra Departmental Employees Union called for nationwide indefinite strike today to protest against several beneficial demands including adding the rural postal employees in 7th pay commission.
All India Postal Extra Departmental Employees Union called for nationwide indefinite strike today to protest against several beneficial demands including adding the rural postal employees in 7th pay commission.
Postal employees of Udaipur staged dharna outside Post Office, Chetak and put forward their concerns.
According to the official letter released by the Udaipur Branch of the Union, there are mainly 14 demands including giving central employees grade to rural postal employees, adding the employees to 7th pay commission, promoting part time employees to permanent etc.
Postal service is highly affected due to the strike. According to Narayan Lal Paneri, president of Udaipur section, “There are end numbers of posts, registries and other documents meant for delivery stored up in the post office due to strike, but we cannot do anything unless our demands are fulfilled”.
