In a shocking display of negligence, three resident doctors at Kanwatia Hospital in Rajasthan have been suspended after a pregnant woman was denied admission, resulting in her giving birth near the hospital's gate. The incident, which occurred on April 32024, has sparked outrage and prompted swift action from the Rajasthan government.
The pregnant woman, whose identity has not been disclosed, was reportedly turned away from the hospital despite experiencing labor pains. With no assistance provided, she was left with no choice but to deliver her child outside the hospital premises.
Following public outcry, Shubhra Singh, Additional Chief Secretary of Medical Education, announced the formation of an inquiry committee to investigate the matter promptly. Upon reviewing the committee's findings, it was revealed that the resident doctors namely Kusum Saini, Neha Rajawat, and Manoj had demonstrated "serious negligence and insensitivity" in their duties, leading to their suspension.
Additionally, a show cause notice was issued to Kanwatia Hospital Superintendent Dr. Rajendra Singh Tanwar for alleged supervisory negligence in the case.
