Prison guards on hunger strike | Health of 1 in Udaipur turns bad

Prison guards stationed at the central jails throughout the state continued their hunger strike for the second day today. As a result of their hunger strike, the health conditions of a set of guards has started getting badly affected.

Prison guards stationed at the central jails throughout the state continued their hunger strike for the second day today. As a result of their hunger strike, the health conditions of a set of guards has started getting badly affected.

There are a total of 125 jails in Rajasthan including 9 central jails and 1 high security jail in Ajmer. The guards at these jails are on hunger strike demanding the redressal of financial irregularities associated with their pay.

As a result of the second day of hunger strike, health of one jail guard in Udaipur was reported to be badly affected. Similarly, 2 guards were admitted to hospital from Ajmer central jail and health of 2 guards in Jodhpur and 1 each in Alwar and Kota was affected.

State Home Ministry has already clarified in the matter that they have sent the file to finance department and are awaiting a revert from them.
