Despite orders from the municipal corporation and restrictions by the traffic police, private bus operators continue to pick up passengers at Udiapole Circle. This practice is causing traffic jams and financial losses to state roadways buses. Private bus drivers sometimes stop on the road from Gulab Bagh to Udiapole due to passenger demand, leading to traffic congestion in the mornings. This inconvenience affects city residents and tourists alike.
On February 28, the Municipal Corporation Commissioner designated an area near Charan Hostel at Surajpol for private buses to stop. However, this order has not been implemented so far. Previously, private buses operated from in front of Mewar Motors lane, but this caused crowding and traffic jams due to the nearby city bus stand.
Roadways buses are also suffering financial losses as private buses pick up passengers from Udiapole Circle before reaching the bus stand. According to Manager Hemant Sharma, private bus operators are not allowed to operate here, yet they continue to do so, causing a daily loss of Rs 1 to 2 lakh for the corporation.
Traffic DSP Netrpal Singh stated that private buses are not permitted to operate from Udiapole Circle. Action will be taken against violators. While no complaints have been received regarding the impact on state roadways buses, DSP Singh assured that action will now be taken.
