The private bus operators will be on strike from today. The term of strike, as informed, is likely to go on until the demands of the bus operators are fulfilled. Reportedly the private bus operators have declared a strike against the hike in vehicle taxes. The Udaipur Tourist Bus Association met with the District Collector regarding this issue stating that they had requested not to increase taxes on purchase of vehicles on 15^th July as well. Post this they also met with Divisional Commissioner and Transport Minister but got no relief. The hike in taxes on vehicles has increased the load on private bus operators and they are unable to cope up with the load.
