To mark the World Breastfeeding Week 2011, starting from August 1, different Government departments are conducting a series of programs, both social and cultural, in various rural areas of Udaipur district.
The week long program will be organized in a joint coordination of The Department of Women and Child Development and Food and Nutrition Board under Child Development Schemes running in Gogunda, Mavli and Girwa.
According to S.C Jain– in-charge of the Congregational Development of Food and Nutrition, the inauguration of the world breastfeeding week will be held at Chatyakhedi Aanganbadi by CDPO, Gogunda on 1st August, and as per the schedule, on 2nd august the program will be held in Faalna village.
On 3rd August, the program will be organized in Oondri village, while on 4th August there is a program at tribal girl’s hostel – Madhuban, Udaipur and on 5th of August it will be organized at Madri Aanganbadi at Aasoliya
At all these centers, under the aforesaid program various events are proposed to be organized that will include discussions on breastfeeding, nutritional diet and various other health issues.
The program will also consist of a food fair displaying nutritional food made at economical prices. A quiz contest named ‘Annaprasann Mahotsav’, healthy baby competition and several exhibitions are also planned for the week long program dedicated to breastfeeding and its importance.
