Public conference on Women empowermentLaad Kumari Jain, President of the State Women Commission called a public conference at the Circuit House at 11 am today, to elaborate more on the problems faced by females in the society.

Shweta Padgedia, Assistant Director, Women and Child Development was also accompanying Laad Kumari Jain.  Dayanand Saaran, Deputy Superintendent of Police and Ratan Chawla, Chief Inspector, Hathipol Police Station were also present at the event.

Laad Kumari spoke with individual females for about half an hour subsequent to taking a session at the conference.  The reason behind the hearing was to analyze what was being done in cases related to women exploitation and female human trafficking.

She also instructed the relative departments to solve the cases and do the needful to bring relief to the affected individuals.  Jain also demanded an urgent need to bring all female managed Police Stations in the remote city areas, as right now they are too remote to be contacted or to be of any use in an urgent situation.

Special emphasis and focus was laid on the Dowry related cases that are repeatedly occurring in the region.  It was also suggested in the conference that a local committee on hearing out such cases at the initial level should be formed, so that the affected persons do not have to go all the way to Jaipur to plead their case.

Further, she also asked for the establishment of a Women Desk at every Police Station.

This was Laad Kumari’s third public gathering after Pratap Nagar and Dungarpur, where she has held similar conferences.
