Victim and Accused in Alleged Pune Lohagad Murder Case Were Scheduled to Marry in Udaipur

Udaipur, June 23, 2026 | Crime Update: The Pune Lohagad accident claim has turned into a gruesome murder investigation. As per media reports, the police have reported that investigations into the 'accident' case at Pune's Lohagad Fort have led the sleuths to suspect murder.

Interestingly, the victim and the alleged party to murder, his fiancee, were scheduled to get married in Udaipur in a destination wedding program, as per media reports. As per the police, the investigations into the supposed 'accident' at Lohagad led the sleuths to a deeper trajectory in the matter. The victim a 26 yr old from Pune and director of a family-run real estate business, had been to Pune's Lohagad Fort for a trek with his fiancee and other friends on June 18. He reportedly died after falling into a 400feet gorge on the fort, as per the claims made by those accompanying him, especially his fiancee.

Sandip Singh, the SP of rural Pune said that investigations into the circumstances led to a deeper probe and revealed that the fiancee was in a relationship with another 22 year old from Pune. The  fiancee planned a trek to Lohagad and persuaded the victim to join her. The accused's alleged lover was called to the location later. At the fort, the girl and her alleged lover pushed the victim into the 400ft gorge, thereby killing him. The police have arrested the girl and her alleged lover, after the complaint was lodged by the victim's father. Further investigation, the police say, as underway to gather forensic evidence and conclude whether any other person was involved in the matter.

As per related sources, the couple was supposed to marry later this year and a palace had already been booked in Udaipur for their elaborate wedding program.
