Organ donation is one important aspect today which needs to be made known to public. Awareness for organ donation can be understood by people who have faced the pain of loss of organ/s.

To spread awareness in the direction of organ donation, a man from Pune (Maharashtra) is on an 18-state tour wherein he will spread awareness regarding organ donation. Pramod Mahajan (67) set up his goal for spreading this important message and left his home town on his bike. He reached Udaipur on Thursday and met with various organisations for assistance.

Pramod donated his kidney to one army man from his village in the year 2000. He said that the army man’s family members could not find a blood match within the family; hence none of them could donate their kidney to save his life. It was then that Pramod donated his kidney and saved the man’s life. This inspired people to donate their organs and 20 people have already saved the lives of their fellow villagers by donating kidneys.

This Pune man is basically a farmer and even sold off a large part of his property for public welfare. His son is an engineer. After understanding the importance of organ donation, he left his home for this noble cause on 21st October to make everyone aware and is likely to reach back to his home town after completing the 18-state awareness campaign by 26th January 2019.
