For the first time since last 46 years, desi ghee and liquor will be tested for adulteration. It may sound too amusing that the purity test will be done in the lab of MB hospital where liquor will also be tested for purity along with other food products. All arrangements have been taken care of for the testing procedures.

As per information, desi ghee will be tested for the presence of soyabean, groundnut, coconut, sunflower contents. Pankaj Kumar, food analyst in the lab, informed that High performance Liquid Chromatograohy test (HPLC) has been made compulsory to find out the impurity in ghee. Some of the ghee samples have reached the lab of MB Hospital. All kinds of other adulteration in ghee like 5% coconut oil, 1 % of refined soyabean oil, 2 % groundnut oil and 1 % of soyabean oil will also be caught by HPLC machine.

CMHO Dinesh Kharadi said that it will be mandatory for all food business operators to display food safety board in their shops or counters. These display boards must be hung on places where they are easily visible to the consumers whether it is billing area, reception area or the entrance.
