Push for Including Gulab Bagh as UNESCO World Heritage Site

DTDC meeting discusses developing tourism master plan for Udaipur city

Udaipur, October 8, 2024 - The District Tourism Development Committee (DTDC) held a meeting yesterday, October 8, in the Collectorate Mini Auditorium under the chairmanship of its president and District Collector, Arvind Poswal. A decision was taken in the meeting to propose the inclusion of the city's historic and natural heritage, Gulab Bagh, in UNESCO's World Heritage Site list. The Municipal Corporation and the Tourism Department were told to accelerate joint efforts in this regard.

Furthermore, discussions were also held on developing a tourism master plan for Udaipur city, setting up a traffic management structure based on artificial intelligence in the city, getting the open theatre at the information centre ready for folk artist presentations and offering recommendations for tourism development and enhancing tourist facilities.

Also present at the meeting were Udaipur Municipal Commissioner Ram Prakash, UDA Commissioner Rahul Jain, Smart City Limited's ACEO Krishnapal Singh Chauhan, Additional Superintendent of Police Madhuri Verma, PHE Superintendent Engineer Anil Garg, Transport Officer Anil Soni among others.
