In a webinar organised by DOT, a senior official aimed at dispelling various misconceptions and myths on mobile tower radiations.
He said that the radiations do not cause injury to health.
Radiations emitted by mobile towers have been a concerning issue since it has been widely understood that the electromagnetic waves are quite injurious to health. Contrary to this fear, it has been declared by the Department of Telecommunications (DOT), that the signals or the radiations do not cause any injury to health.
Harvesh Bhatia, Senior Deputy Director of DOT in a webinar aimed at dispelling various misconceptions and myths said that based on extensive research, it has been established that harms due to mobile tower radiations are merely misconceptions.
Bhatia said, “On the basis of extensive research on EMF signals, it has been established that mobile tower radiation does not cause any injurious health issues.” Medical experts and other stake holders also endorsed Bhatia’s statement.
An official also said that public must be made aware of the need for mobile towers and the misleading theories revolving regarding the radiations. Apart from DOT officials, the webinar was attended by doctors, officers of the state government, police, local bodies and technical institutions.
