As per AICC, a grand conclave is being planned in Rajasthan towards the end of next month by the state Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, which would mark the reinstatement of Rahul Gandhi at the helm of the Congress party.

The conclave, which is being planned towards the end of January 2021 is likely to be held in Udaipur or the state capital Jaipur. The Congress will likely propose the name of Rahul Gandhi as its national leader and reinstate him as Congress President.

The conclave will be held after the internal organizational polls being undertaken by the Central Election Committee of the Congress culminate. This will likely be either towards the end of January or in early February, as per media reports.

Even though Rahul has refused to take up the post again, the think tanks of the Congress party are still deliberating on his reinstatement at the helm and will propose this in the conclave – the venue, either Udaipur or Jaipur will  be decided in due course.

As per a senior Congress leader, many in the party feel that Rahul’s statement – “ready to do anything for the party” at a meeting with senior leaders and Sonia Gandhi is assumed as his acceptance to take over as the Congress president.

As per earlier reports, the Congress leaders has specified that no one was critical of Rahul and Randeep Surjewala, AICC chief spokesperson said that 99.9 per cent leaders in the Congress wanted Rahul to lead the party again
