Rain continues in Udaipur District, lakes water level goes high

Udaipur City has recorded a rainfall of 127.8 mm in the last 24 hours; today it was another consequent day when Rain God blessed the city with his bounties. Though the cloudy Friday was humid as people were seen annoyed with sweat and discomfort.

Low to medium showers were reported in some parts of the city since early afternoon, but since 2 PM, continuous medium-low showers have substantially brought down the mercury turning the humid climate pleasant today.

Besides Udaipur district, other areas of Mewar like  Rajsamand,  Dungarpur, Sirohi, Pratapgarh, Bhilwara and Chittor districts also witnessed good rain in last few days according to weather department.

Highest rainfall in Udaipur district was reported at Som ( 312mm) followed by Udaisagar ( 194 mm) and Gogunda (166 mm) while the lowest amount of rainfall was measured in Kotra (62 mm) and Vallabh Nagar ( 88mm).

Banswara received 173 mm of rain in the last 24 hours though today there was no rain in the area while the precipitation in other districts stand as : Dungarpur ( 129 mm), Rajsamand (109mm), Chittorgarh (224mm), Pratapgarh (441 mm), Bhilwara ( 186 mm) and Sirohi ( 120 mm) .

With  continuous rain in Udaipur and nearby areas, lakes and water channels are believed to be on the verge of overflowing. An increase in the water levels of Fathe Sagar, Sawroop Sagar, Madar, Udai Sagar, Pichola etc has been reported..
