Rain Whips Udaipur, a wall and building collapse

Rain doused Udaipur today afternoon; most parts of the city get heavy rain showers with loud thunderstorm. Consequently the old city areas were soaked with water flowing above ankle; traffic jam on the roads and pedestrians who stuck here and there exemplified not less than a flood scene. It was a few minutes passed to 1 in the afternoon when dark bellied clouds scudded across the city’s sky and started showering which was soon followed by heavy rain and storm caused by wind from North East which seized the city of lakes.

Pratapnagar, Hiran Magri, Fatehpura, Bedla, Bhopalpura, Delhi gate and almost the whole city has received heavy rainfall today. One residential building collapsed in Dholi Bawri area while a part of boundary wall of Gandhi Ground came down due to heavy rain showers, the heaviest of this season. However, no one is reported hurt in both the incidents but many people were seen trapped in traffic jam due to rainfall and water logging. Continuous water flow from Madar is raising the level of Fateh Sagar and it is about to touch 11ft mark. This has raised the hope to see the magnificent scene of overflow soon. According to weather forecast Udaipur might receive series of rainfall with thunder in the next couple of days.
