Rajasthan May Adopt Tamil Nadu's Temple Management System

Devasthan Department Tamil Nadu Temple System

Udaipur, January 29, 2025 - Rajasthan is considering adopting the temple management system followed by Tamil Nadu. A team from the Devasthan Department visited Tamil Nadu to study their temple management system. The team will prepare a detailed report on their findings and submit it to the state government.

The study will include temple operations, departmental administration, and religious visit management. It is likely that provisions based on this system could be included in the upcoming state budget, and the model might be implemented in Rajasthan.

Team Members and Tamil Nadu Temple Visit

The Secretary of the Devasthan Department, P. Ramesh, led the team to Tamil Nadu. The team included the Additional Commissioner, Assistant Commissioner, an Inspector from Jodhpur, and an Accountant from Udaipur. They will visit famous temples such as the Chidambaram Nataraja Temple, Brihadeeswara Temple, and Meenakshi Amman Temple, among others.
