Infra, Healthcare, Tribal and Tourism Boost for Udaipur in Rajasthan State Budget 2026

Udaipur gets a development boost in Rajasthan Budget 2026-27 with major investments in roads, bridges, healthcare, tribal welfare, skill training, sports, and tourism, enhancing city infrastructure and citizen services

Udaipur, Feb 11, 2026: The Finance Minister and Dy CM of the Rajasthan Government, Diya Kumari, spelled out the finer details of the State Budget 2026-27 in her Budget speech in the Legislative Assembly at Jaipur on Feb 11, 2026.

Among the various allocations and announcements across the state, the following announcements were made for Udaipur.

Roads and Bridges

  • Rs. 38.50 Cr allocated for the renovation work on the road between Bhuwana Chauraha till the Amberi flyover.
  • Rs. 2.75 Cr allocated for the construction of the link road between Nenbara village and Jawla village (approximately 2.5 km) towards the southern end of Udaipur.
  • Rs. 2.95 Cr allocated to the construction of the road between Hakdi Naal (Kaya Village) till Aamdari (Chanbora)
  • Rs. 10 Cr allocated to the construction of the road between Kanbai Bhomtava to Jhajhri (Kherwada) on the Gujarat border.
  • Rs. 8 Cr allocated to the construction of the road between Dabok to Taank (Vallabhnagar), which is a distance of approximately 9 km.
  • Rs. 10 Cr allocated to the construction of multiple bridges on the Banas river and Sabarmati river sections passing through Udaipur.

Railway Bridge

Detailed Project Report (DPR) project for RUB/ROB on Dabok – Mavli – Kapasan – Chittaurgarh route at Mavli.

Renovations

  • Rs. 41 Cr allocated for the renovation of the 2 lane under bridge on the State Highway No 32 between Pratapnagar and Balicha. The funds for the conversion of the 2 lane bridge on the Ayad river to a 4-lane bridge will also be met from these funds.
  • Rs 25lakh allocated towards preparing the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for retrofitting works on Rani Road, alongside Fatehsagar lake.
  • Rs. 8.57 Cr allocated towards completing the laying of underground power (electricity line) cables across Udaipur district.
  • Beautification of the Bhinder Dawela Lake and Gambhir Sagar Lake under Vallabhnagar.

Flood Management and Lakes

  • Ten cities, including Udaipur, will be allocated Rs 1020 Cr to undertake projects aimed at addressing the problem of waterlogging, systematic drainage of rainwater and ensure protection during flood situations. The other cities along with Udaipur are Jaipur, Ajmer, Alwar, Bhiwadi, Kota, Churu, Pali, Nagaur and Bharatpur.
  • The Mewar belt of Udaipur, Banswara, Salumber, Pratapgarh, Dungarpur, along with Pali and Jalore will benefit from the Rs. 5,900 Cr project to divert the surplus water of the Anas River, which flows wastefully during the monsoon season, to Som Kamala Amba through a feeder canal by creating an artificial reservoir, and expanding the project to study the water harvesting and storage capacity and utilization potential in Jalore district and develop a reservoir.
  • Integrated Management Plan for conservation and management of the Menar Wetland at Udaipur.

Enhancements in Skill Training

  • Advanced CNC (computerized Numeric Control) Machining Technician and Semi-Conductor Technician training will begin at the ITIs in Udaipur.

  • Electric Vehicle Mechanic Training will begin at ITIs across Udaipur, Jaipur, Bhilwara, Kota, Jodhpur, Bharatpur and Alwar.

Sports

RIICO and RSMML will develop two state-of-the-art sporting facilities in Udaipur. Each facility will be dedicated to a specific sport, ensuring that the facility is equipped with world-class training infrastructure.

Healthcare

  • A regional cancer centre will be set up at Udaipur’s Maharana Bhupal Government Hospital, and the equipment will be provided under Private-Public Partnership arrangement.

  • Basic Life Support Training Centres will be established in Ajmer, Bikaner, Udaipur, Kota and Jodhpur to enhance the capability of health workers to provide first aid to save lives in emergency situations.

  • To provide timely medical care to critically ill patients, 12 modular operating theaters will be established at Maharana Bhupal Hospital, Udaipur along with SMS Hospital, Jaipur, JLN Hospital, Ajmer, PBM Hospital, Bikaner, , MBS Hospital, Kota, and Mathuradas Mathur Hospital, Jodhpur.

  • To reduce waiting times for surgical interventions, doctors who perform surgical interventions after hospital hours will receive an incentive share in their packages under various schemes. Rs. 50 Cr has been allocated for this purpose.

  • To provide accommodation for patients and their families, state-of-the-art rest houses will be established at MB Hospital Udaipur, along with the main hospitals attached to the government medical colleges at Jaipur, Ajmer, Bikaner, Kota, and Jodhpur at a cost of Rs. 500 Crore.

  • Building premises will be provided for setting up Children Homes Udaipur. Such children homes will also be setup at Banswara, Baran, Bharatpur, Bhilwara, Chittorgarh, Dausa, Jodhpur, Kota, Pali, Pratapghar, Rajsamand and Sikar. A total of Rs 19 Crore has been allocated towards this project.

Tribal Care

  • Rs. 1,200 will be directly transferred to the bank account of the head of family of all families belonging to the Kathodi tribe in Udaipur. This money will be given to provide for their basic food material.

  • Minor Forest Produce Processing Centres will be set up at Udaipur and Banswara district headquarters, to provide livelihood to tribal youth of the region. These centres will facilitate processing of Amla, Honey, Tamarind (Imli), Mahuai, etc.

Tourism

  • A new premises will be built to house the offices of the Rajasthan State Archives. This will be done with the aim of enhancing eco-tourism and preservation of heritage and culture.

Public Utilities and Policing

  • Establishing the Assistant Engineer (Electricity) office at Sayra (Gogunda).
  • Police Outpost (Chowki) at Ayad will be enhanced to Ayad Police Station (Thana).
  • An expenditure of Rs 250 crore is proposed for maintaining 3 months' video data, expansion of IT infrastructure and establishment of AI based video analytics at Abhay Command and Control Centre.
  • Cyber Forensic Divisions ​​will be established at the Regional Forensic Science Labs in Udaipur, Ajmer, Bikaner, Jodhpur, Bharatpur and Kota in a phased manner with an aim to strengthening these labs.
  • Construction of new Central Jail buildings in Udaipur in a phased manner using NBCC Pattern.
  • Modern Meeting rooms will be built at the Central Jail and Women Reform Homes in Udaipur.

Other Projects

  • Organic Food Market will be established in Udaipur to provide organic agricultural produce to the general public.
  • Specialised Centre for Treatment of Wild Animals will be set up in Udaipur, with the help of Wild Life Institute of India Dehradun and Indian Veterinary Research Institute, Bareilly as knowledge partners.
  • Noise Monitoring Stations and Silent Zones will be set up at Udaipur along with Jaipur, Jodhpur, Kota, Alwar, Bikaner, Bharatpur and Ajmer.
