Rajasthan Chief Secretary to Attend IASIA 2026 Meet in Athens
V Srinivas to deliver inaugural and valedictory addresses at the conference on 'Rethinking Governance for a Changing World' and chair the IIAS Council of Administration
UdaipurTimes, Oct 10, 2026 - Rajasthan Chief Secretary and president of the International Institute of Administrative Sciences (IIAS), V Srinivas will participate in the IASIA 2026 Annual Conference, scheduled to be held in Athens, Greece, from October 12 to 15, 2026. The conference of the International Association of Schools and Institutes of Administration (IASIA) will be attended by 600 delegates from more than 100 countries.
IASIA is a regional unit of IIAS. Srinivas was elected the first Indian president of IIAS in June 2025 for the three-year term 2025–2028.
During his visit, the Chief Secretary will address the IASIA Board of Management on October 12, chair the IIAS Council of Administration meeting on October 13, deliver the inaugural address at the conference the next day and give the valedictory address on October 15.
Policymakers, public administration experts and academics will discuss ways to make governance more effective, accountable and citizen-centric at the conference, themed “Rethinking Governance for a Changing World”. Discussions will cover administrative innovation, digital transformation, institutional capacity and public trust in public institutions.
An initial preview of the IIAS Governance Index, being developed under the leadership of Srinivas, will be a major highlight of the conference. The Index aims to provide a global reference for understanding the functioning of public institutions and identifying areas for improvement. Its conceptual framework and methodology will be presented to international experts.
