Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot announced a complete lockdown in Rajasthan, following his review meeting earlier this evening.  The official order was issued a few minutes back.

In order to minimise and nullify the effect of Coronavirus in the state, Ashok Gehlot announced a complete lockdown, where only essential services will be active till 31 March.  All other businesses, markets, private offices, Malls, shops, factories and public transport services will be completely shutdown. He added that in order to control the pandemic, it is essential that people stay at home more often.

The Chief Minister, further urged the people of the state to support the governments decision in spirit so that the purpose could be served.

During the lockdown, free food packets will be distributed for a period of two months from April 1, to the economically weak families and wheat will be distributed to those under the National Food Security Act, 2013. These families were ealier provided wheat at Rs 1 and Rs 2 per kg.  Under this crisis, food for the next two months will be provided free of cost.

Ashok Gehlot also announced that pensioners will be getting the pension under the Social Security Pension plan within the first week of April.
