December 3,2024 - Rajasthan will soon start using an e-measurement book (e-MB) for MGNREGA work, as directed by the central government. This change aims to stop mistakes and unfair practices in measuring the work done under NREGA, the cost of materials, and the amount of work completed by individuals or groups.
Right now, a physical measurement book is used. This book keeps details about
Work done by laborers every 15 days.
The money spent on the work.
Measurements of tasks completed, based on fixed rates for materials or resources used.
Instead of writing this information in a physical book, it will now be uploaded online using NREGA's MIS software.
A data entry operator will input this information every 15 days before preparing the final list of wages.
The approval for using this digital system is currently with the Commissioner of EGS.
The e-MB will make NREGA work more transparent and reduce errors or fraud in recording work details and payments.
