The Election Commission, in Media briefing today, announced the dates for Assembly Elections across 5 States, viz. Chhatisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Mizoram, Rajasthan and Telangana.
The Assembly Elections in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Mizoram and Telangana will be held in a single phase on 23 November, 17 November, 7 November and 30 November respectively. However, the Assembly Elections in Chhatisgarh will be be held in two phases, on 7 November and 17 November. The results for all the 5 States will be declared on 3 December.
BJP is currently in power in Madhya Pradesh, while Congress holds the reign in Chhatisgarh and Rajasthan. BRS and Mizo National Front are in power in Telangana and Mizoram currently.

The run up to the Elections in these 5 States will have significant bearing on the political ecosystem across India, with Lok Sabha elections due in 2024.
