Rajasthan: Relief From Inspector Raj for Power Connectivity Installations Upto 33kV

A self certification process has been enabled by the regulatory authorities to facilitate a swift application process

Udaipur, April 25, 2026: The Government of Rajasthan has eased the norms for electrical installations upto 33kV, as per the provisions of the state Budget for the current year.

An order to this effect was passed on April 23 under the signature of the Manoj Kumar Mittal, Assistant Secretary, Energy of the Energy Department of the Government of Rajasthan.

No Mandatory Inspection for Under 33kV

As per the order, the electrical installations of owner/supplier/consumer connected with electricity at voltage upto 33kV shall be self-certified by the owner/supplier/consumer or certified by an Electrical Inspector as may be opted by the supplier or consumer through the portal. This means that the mandatory requirement of an Inspector validating the request for connection has been done away with for connections upto 33kV. The provision applies to any establishment, be it residential, commercial, factories, etc.

Mandatory Inspection

The provision for Inspector certification for connections above 33kV remains in place as earlier. The inspection is also mandatory in the following cases:

  • all multi-storeyed buildings above 15 meters height
  • all underground electrical installations
  • all cinema halls, theatres, hospitals, places of large public gatherings, namely hotel, religious places, educational institutions, malls, places of VIP movement

Certificate Upload

The connection will be activated only after the self-certification OR the Electrical Inspectors certificate (where mandatory) is uploaded on the department portal. This ensures that while electricity safety is maintained at public places, the procedure for low voltage consumers has become easier and transparent.
