Udaipur, November 1, 2024 - Relining work on the Rajasthan Feeder Canal will start soon for which the canal will have to be closed, according to reports. Canal closure will take place in April and May. Rajasthan has agreed to pay Punjab Rs 136 crore for this closure.
Approximately 15.5 kilometres of the Rajasthan Feeder will undergo relining work which will increase the water flow by 3,000 to 4,000 cusecs. This will provide immense benefit to the farmers. Additionally, the Sirhind Feeder will also be closed for relining.
According to the Water Resources Department, Rajasthan has been receiving water from both feeders, and after the relining work it is expected that water output will be increased by about 3,000 to 4,000 cusecs of water.
