Free Tablet Scheme Rajasthan

The Rajasthan Department of Education has announced a student encouragement scheme aimed at providing free tablets and SIM cards to eligible students. Under this initiative, students who have achieved 75% or more marks in the 8th, 10th, or 12th grades in 2022 and 2023 will receive tablets at no cost. It is a prerequisite that students must be enrolled in government schools and be residents of Rajasthan.

In addition to the tablets, the government will also distribute SIM cards to facilitate internet access. The department has issued tenders to procure 55,800 SIM cards from various mobile networking companies, with an estimated expenditure of approximately Rs 18.17 crore. According to Director of Secondary Education Ashish Modi, the bidding process ensures that students will benefit from free internet access for three years, covering the active period of the SIM cards.

The tablets provided will include essential information such as curriculum details, access to educational YouTube content, updates on government schemes, and career guidance for students. This initiative aims to enhance learning opportunities and digital access for eligible students across Rajasthan.
