Rajasthan Panchayat Election 2026 Schedule Announced
The elections will be held in four phases, starting October 25, for 1,403 Zila Parishad members across 41 Zila Parishads
UdaipurTimes, Oct 3, 2026 - The State Election Commission today, October 3, announced the dates and other details of the Panchayat elections to be held in Rajasthan. With the announcement of the election schedule, the Model Code of Conduct has now come into effect in rural areas.
The elections will be held in four phases, starting from October 25, 2026, for 1,403 Zila Parishad members across 41 Zila Parishads. Polling will also be held for 8,245 Panchayat Samiti members across 457 Panchayat Samitis. There are a total of 4 crore 3 lakh eligible voters.
Sarpanch election will be held in 14,403 Gram Panchayats, which have a total of 130,584 wards. Around 169,000 Panchayati Raj representatives will be elected.
The Zila Parishad members will elect 41 Zila Pramukhs (District Chiefs), while the Panchayat Samiti members will elect 457 Pradhans (Panchayat Samiti heads).
Elections for Sarpanch and Ward Panch positions will be conducted using ballot papers, while elections for Zila Parishad and Panchayat Samiti members will be conducted using EVMs.
Election Schedule
- The public election notification will be issued on October 8.
- October 13 will be the last date for filing nominations.
- Nomination forms can be filed between 11:00 am and 3:00 pm.
- Nomination papers will be scrutinised on October 14.
- October 15 will be the last date for withdrawal of nominations.
- The notification for the first phase of Panchayat Samiti member elections will be issued on October 8.
- The notification for the second phase will be issued on October 13.
- The notification for the third phase will be issued on October 19.
- The notification for the fourth phase will be issued on October 21.
Voting Dates
- First phase: October 25
- Second phase: October 31
- Third phase: November 6
- Fourth phase: November 16
All election process to end on November 20. Counting to start immediately after voting ends.
Reservations Finalised
A 50% reservation for women will remain in effect in Panchayati Raj institutions.
- Of 41 District Chief positions, 20 reserved for women.
- Of 457 Pradhan positions, 221 reserved for women.
- In Jaipur and Jodhpur, women will serve as Pradhan in 11 Panchayat Samitis each.
- Pradhan positions in Dungarpur, Banswara, Salumber and Pratapgarh will remain reserved for Scheduled Tribes (ST).
- Of 14,403 Sarpanch positions, approximately 7,200 have been reserved for women.
- Among the Sarpanch positions, 3,058 are reserved for ST, 2,493 for SC, and 1,961 for OBC candidates.
- Of 130,584 Ward Panch positions, approximately 65,000 have been reserved for women.
- Among the Ward Panch positions, 21,962 have been reserved for SC candidates and 19,117 for ST candidates.
