December 4,2024 - There are worries about a shortage of DAP (Di-Ammonium Phosphate) fertiliser for Rabi crop sowing. The state agriculture department has managed to get 3 lakh metric tonnes of DAP, but it needs 4 lakh metric tonnes.
So far, 2.08 lakh metric tonnes of DAP have arrived in October and November, but the demand was 2.81 lakh metric tonnes. There are still 41,000 metric tonnes in stock, enough for 10 more days of sowing.
To avoid problems, the agriculture department is closely watching the situation and stopping hoarding. They are also working with the Central government to get more supplies. Farmers are being asked to use other fertilisers like SSP and NPK.
The department has started a special campaign to stop black marketing, hoarding, and fake fertilisers.
