Rajiv Gandhi Olympics: No mention of "Football" on Certificates given to Football teams

Does it even make sense for the Football team winners to receive a certificate that does not mention "Football"?

A significant omission was noted  in the  Certificates distributed to the  winners and runners-up of the various sports played at the Rajiv Gandhi Urban and Rural Olympics, the Udaipur Intra District phase of which concluded on 6 September. The omission was pointed out by the Secretary of the Udaipur District Football Associatoin, Shakeel Hussain. It was seen that the certificates presented to the Football winners lacked the mention of the sport of "Football" itself.  The victorious Cluster-67 team in Football had achieved success at the district level.

The Rajiv Gandhi Urban and Rural Olympics concluded on Wednesday, September 6, 2023. The victorious district-level teams from this event will now have the honor of representing Udaipur in the state-level competition. The closing ceremony took place at Gandhi Khel Maidan and was attended by District Collector Arvind Poswal. The  event was coordinated by Chief Nodal Officer CEO Zilla Parishad Saloni Khemka.  During the program, awards were given to both the winners and runners-up of various men and women competitions.

The winners in Football, Shooting Ball, Kabaddi, Basketball, Kho-Kho, Volleyball, Tennis Ball Cricket, Tug of War, and Athletics (100, 200, 400 meters) will now proudly represent Udaipur at the state level. However, the  issue regarding the omission in the certificates awarded to the Football winners is a serious one. Apart from the fact that these certificates lack the essential mention of "Football" on the certificates, they also do not bear the signature of the District Collector of Udaipur, which is a significant oversight.

The event also saw the presence of OP Bunkar, the Additional Commissioner of the Excise Department and Prabha Gautam, the Additional Commissioner of the Tribal Areas Development Department.
