Rajni Dangi Attends National Lake Conservation Project Meet
Rajni Dangi, Chairperson, Udaipur Municipal Council, attended the National Lake Conservation Project (NLCP) meet at Jaipur today and discussed about the ongoing developments in Udaipur, with G.S. Sindhu, Principal Secretary, Urban Development and Housing, Government of Rajasthan.

Among the various topics discussed, the UMC Chairperson discussed the issue raised by the people to amend the orders on the ‘No Construction’ zones near the banks of Lake Pichola, Fatehsagar, Rangsagar and Kumhariya Lake into ‘Construction Zones’.
She also suggested on increasing the number sweepers appointed and buying a dividing machine, while at the same time, taking action against illegal encroachments and other major issues related to Udaipur.
The issue of making Udaipur a B2 category city was also discussed at the meeting and the Principal Secretary said that the Government is looking into this matter with a broader perspective.
Dangi also elaborated on the issue of changing the No Construction Zone to a Construction Zone, as the houses built alongside the banks of these lakes are almost 300 years old and need to be renovated and reconstructed. G.S. Sandhu assured her that the Government would do its best to resolve this issue as it affects the sentiments of the people.
Sandhu also assured Rajni Dangi that he would take steps against the illegal encroachments, and setup a Police Chowki in the Municipal Council Premises.
The Municipal Council commissioner, Satyanarayan Acharya and Executive Engineer Neeraj Mathur, also attended this meeting.
