As per reports in the media, certain State Government Housing schemes in the Rajsamand District have yet too see the light of the day.
The report mentions that construction of 288 flats under the Chief Ministers Housing Scheme (Mukhya Mantri Awaas Yojna) is yet to be completed. The Rajsamand Municipal Council reportedly has served the notice to the construction firm when the work was supposed to be completed in October 2022. However, of the 1072 flats, only 135 have supposedly been handed over to the beneficiaries and only 10-15 people are staying in these flats. The general services and facilities are yet not complete.
The construction work, which has been ceased over the last many months has just begun while the utilities in the completed flats are yet not fully functional. As per the agreement, 288 flats out of 1072 in the mentioned scheme operational behind the Devthadi Police Lines were supposed to be handed over by October 2022. The Rajsamand Municipal Council has reportedly served notice to the contractor twice since. As per the information available, the contract was awarded to National Consumer Cooperative Federation. The work was sub-contracted to another firm. As per the agreement, the work was supposed to get over in February 2021, but due to the COVID pandemic, work was delayed. This resulted in the official hand over date for the 288 flats to be extended to 31 October 2022.

Tarun Baheti, the XEN of the Rajsamans Municipal Council told the newspaper the work under the scheme has restarted a few days back and tenders for construction of the roads and STP are also in process.
