The event was organised and co-ordinated by 10 RAJ Battalion NCC on 22^nd April 2012.

The program started with a poster making competition wherein the Cadets took part wholeheartedly producing very thought provoking and meaningful posters.

A rally on occasion of the Earth Day was taken out by approximately 200 well turned out cadets with ANO”s and the NCC PI Staff.  The rally was flagged off by Colonel I. S. Sehdeva, VSM, Group Commander, Udaipur and Major Karuna Sood, CO 10 Raj Battalion NCC, Udaipur.

The rally started from Maharana Sanga NCC Bhawan, and crossed Saheli Marg, Chetak Circle and Court Choraha on its way back to Maharana Sanga Bhawan.

Thereafter the Group Commander addressed the Cadets and distributed prizes to the winners of the Poster making competition.

Elsewhere, a rally was organised by the Forest Department, Udaipur, under the auspices of the District Environment Committee.  The rally was flagged off by Raghuvier Meena, MP and the Collector, Hemant Gera.

Approximately 400 persons including school children, employees of Larsen & Toubro and the Forest department participated in the event, which was led by Om Prakash Sharma, the Secretary of the District Environment Committee and Deputy Conservator of Forests, Udaipur.  An exhibition on Earth Conservation was also held at the District Forest Office premises at Chetak Circle.  The entire event was co-ordinated by Firoz Hussain, Forester.

In the chain of events happening to observe Earth Day 2012, a two-day program at Alok Institute, Udaipur concluded today with the Poster Making, Model Exhibition and a group Pledge for Saving the Earth. Dr. Pradeep Kumawat, Director, Alok Institute said, “If we want to save the human race then it is necessary to save the planet Earth. We have to conserve water, electricity; planting more trees, and reduce pollution.”
