NCRTC is a joint venture between the Union government and the states of Rajasthan, Delhi, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh

The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) of India has given the name "RAPIDX" to its first regional semi-high-speed rail service.  The trains will run along the lines of the Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS), which is being developed to link important metropolitan centres around the National Capital Region (NCR). The brand name "RAPIDX" was chosen because it is simple to read and pronounce in any language.

It will connect Delhi with NCR, including Alwar, Meerut, Panipat. The letter "X" in the company's name stands for cutting-edge technology and modern mobility solutions, signifying speed, advancement, youth, optimism, and vigour. The brand wants to use green energy, reduce the number of automobiles on the road, and decongest the NCR in order to aid in decarbonization.

The Union government, Rajasthan, Delhi, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh are all partners in the NCRTC. By putting solar panels on stations and depots and gradually using more blended power in traction, the firm hopes to access green energy. The Rapid Rail Transit Services (RRTS) corridor will be 82 km long and is expected to bring down travel time between Delhi and Meerut.
