The authorities need not go to the lake to check the water level scale. They will get the updates automatically in their office.

Real time data acquisition systems have been installed at Fatehsagar Lake and Lake Pichola near the water level scale strips. These systems will send automatic updates in the office of the water resource department and on their mobiles. The same systems will also be installed at the other lakes of Udaipur.

The water resource department does not need not go to the lakes to check the level of water any more. They will get the updates  while sitting in office and this will also save time.

To check the flow of water during monsoons, these systems will be installed very soon at Sisarma River and Sabarmati River in Kotda region.  Jaisamand, Udaisagar, Vallabhnagar dam, Bagoliya dam, Daya dam and other water bodies will also these systems at the earliest.

As informed field employees are reducing in the water resource department, hence it becomes quite a difficult task to check the water level every 3 to 4 months. Sudden rains in the catchments which increase the flow and level of water also makes it almost impossible to check the water gauge. These systems will prove to be extremely beneficial in the coming times. This will also result in proper control of water flow resulting in opening of the gates on time and taking quick action during the possibilities of flood.
